about
This is a nice and simple acoustic arrangement of one of our pieces. A sort of sneak peak into the 95th Squadron (full band) album in the making.
lyrics
Daddy was an ex-Marine, the next to careen out of control,
Mommy was a scared young girl, just trying to keep a hold on the man that she loved,
Then a dream he woke up from and he hit your mother and it all came un-done,
You sat in the corner and watched, and wept and hoped it was all in fun
When you were seventeen, it was another dream that awoke your father in a steam,
he walked across the floor and through the open door till he opened up the drawer that he kept locked
but not today
he pulled a pistol from it's midst and fired away,
at his fears
your mother said she watched his face grow pale with years
of tears
And she wept,
as she swept the pieces of the floor he blew away
and you can hear each word she whispered in your ear
You hear her say -
Run,
run away from this place if you care for yourself
run away from this place if you care for yourself
I'm running
running
running for my life
You're an immigrant in the world you spent your whole life living in
incompetent in the city where you watched your father bore a sin
belligerent to yourself each time you think of what you could have done
to save your mother from the hell she's in
the same hell you came from
But in the end, it's not your fault
you tried to save her from the mess...
